We’re excited to announce a significant change in how RIDE is released and distributed. Moving forward, RIDE is transitioning from monolithic releases to a flexible, package-based distribution model.
RIDE is moving away from large releases to a modular package-based approach. This new model provides greater flexibility, faster updates, and allows you to adopt only the components you need.
Core RIDE packages will be made available on GitHub, providing open access to the fundamental building blocks of the platform. These packages include essential functionality and can be freely accessed, modified, and integrated into your projects.
Specialized packages containing advanced features and proprietary functionality will be made available to organizations that have signed a distribution agreement, under Government Purpose Rights (GPR). These packages provide specialized capabilities for specific use cases, for example 3D geospecific terrain loading, drone simulation, and intelligent conversational agents.
Individual packages can be updated independently, allowing critical fixes and improvements to reach you faster without waiting for the next quarterly release.
Choose only the packages you need for your specific use case. No more downloading and maintaining large, monolithic installations with features you don’t use.
Core packages on GitHub provide full visibility into the codebase, enabling community contributions and fostering trust through open development.
Manage dependencies at the package level, giving you precise control over which versions of each component you’re using in your environment.
Packages will be made available over time as they complete clearance processes. This ensures each package meets our quality and security standards before distribution.
